Concerned about damp entering your Motorhome or Camper.

We booked this lovely little van in, as the client was having problems with the Water Heater, a Carver Cascade 2 G/GE and the Carver 3600STC room heater, apparently someone else had a look at the problems, then after a £200 investigation fee was paid, they said there was little they could do!

I can’t understand the thinking behind the Motorhome Dealers comments, make sure if someone is going to look at your Motorhome Damp Problem, make sure they can do the whole job!

Where the Carver Water Heater is installed, it had not been properly sealed, it must of been like this for a while. The repair is quite simple to do, remove all the effected timber, apply some damp prevention, to cure the surrounding timber, then install the new pressure treated timber, sealing everything with a good coating of Sikaflex, don’t be tempted to use Silicone, it does not seal properly and will move as the van is driven, while Sikaflex seals bonds and remains in place even when you drive!

Keep an eye on our next post where we tackle the Heaters.
